Sheffield Track Earns Split at Smethport

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Sheffields’ boys’ and girls’ track teams earned a split during a dual meet at Smethport on Thursday.

The Wolverines improved to 7-1 this season with a 106-33 win over the Hubbers. Sheffield’s girls fell to 2-6 following a 91-45 loss to Smethport.

Lucas McNeal and Gage Mott-Macalush were each triple individual winners. McNeal swept the jumping events as he took first in the long, triple, and high jumps. McNeal was also part of the winning 4×100 relay team, along with Isaiah Townsend, Landon Mead, and Michael Mihalic.

Mott-Macalush won the 110 hurdles on the track, then went to the field and took first in both the shot put, and discus.

Mead won the 100 and 200, while Alex Eaton took first in the 1600 and 3200. Eaton was also on the 4×800 relay team, along with Chase Kyler, Dylan Hardwick, and Syncere Money that took first.

Townsend took first in the 400, and Hardwick won the 300 hurdles.

Emily Foster was a triple-winner for the girls. She took first in the 200, long jump, and high jump. She was also part of the winning 4×100 relay team with Lily Benton, Madison Mitchell, and Kadence Steffan.
