JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Still searching for the right mix of players due to injury, Sheffield was swept at Johnsonburg, 25-12, 25-18, and 25-19, on Tuesday.

Down a starter, the Wolverines have been moving players to new positions to try to fill the gap.

“We moved Lexi (Goldthwaite) to middle hitter for the second and third sets tonight,” Sheffield coach Melissa Lemay said. “Everyone is being very flexible with their role on the court and we continue to search for the most cohesive group. The ones that work hard and play together will find more and more time on the court.”

Goldthwaite finished with three kills and five digs. Kadence Steffan had eight assists and Emily Foster had three blocks.

Sheffield won the junior varsity match 25-20 and 25-12.

Peyton Wotorson had 15 digs and five assists, Emma Roell had four kills, and Emily Davidson had 12 digs.

“They are playing well together, passing well, and consistently running their offense,” Lemay said.

The Wolverines have nearly a week off before heading west on Route 6 Monday for a cross-county clash at Youngsville.
