SHEFFIELD, Pa. – The Sheffield Chapter of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) attended the PA State SADD Conference in Seven Springs on Nov. 1.
Eighteen students and SADD advisor Olivia Zawacki attended the all-day conference where they heard guest speakers and discussed issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, suicide prevention and awareness and the importance of safe driving with other Pennsylvania students.
The conference focused on helping attendees promote positive peer-to-peer interactions with the students back in their home schools and how to encourage teens to make healthy life choices.
“It was a very fun and interactive conference, and we are hoping to share many of the amazing things we learned soon, especially right before Prom and Graduation,” Zawacki said.
The Sheffield SADD chapter was the only Warren County chapter in attendance and the group earned the award for “longest distance driven to attend the conference.”
