Sheffield Grapplers Take Four Firsts at Inaugural AML Wrestling Championships

BRADFORD, Pa. – Sheffield claimed four individual champions at the inaugural Allegheny Mountain League wrestling championships on Monday.

Teams could enter an unlimited number of wrestlers, so no team scores were kept.

Kane, Port Allegany, and Bradford had two individual champions each.

Sheffield’s four champions came in consecutive fashion, all by pin – AJ Barnes at 121, Hayden Holden at 127, Collin Brown at 133, and Chase Kyler at 139.

Gavin Ayers also won a showdown over Port Allegany’s Miska Young, 2-0 in sudden victory at 215.

Port Allegany had seven wrestlers in the finals, led by champions Jusso Young (189) and Carson Neely (285).
