Sheffield, Eisenhower Split in Track and Field Action

SHEFFIELD, Pa. -The Sheffield and Eisenhower track and field teams split on Thursday, with the Sheffield boys winning 107-34 and the Eisenhower girls earning a 69-64 win.

Sheffield’s Collin Brown tied with teammate Lamont Thomas in the boys’ 100, with Thomas also winning the 200 and taking part in both the winning 400 and 1600-meter relays. The Sheffield boys swept all three relays.

Lucas McNeal won the 400 and long jump for the Wolverines.

Eisenhower’s Joseph Mistretta won the 400.

The Wolverine also swept seven events against the Knights.

Eisenhower’s Benji Bauer won both the triple jump (36-10) and shot put (39-0), with the Knights’ Caleb Penley also winning the discus (119-3) by over 20 feet.

On the girls’ side, Eisenhower’s Marissa Gourley won both the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles. Eisenhower also took two of three relays, the 3200 and 1600.

The Wolverines swept the jumping events, with Kassidy Orinko winning the long jump and triple jump, then taking second only to teammate Emily Foste in the high jump.
