Shaffer Powers Saegertown Past Eisenhower

RUSSELL, Pa. – Henry Shaffer had a monster day for Saegertown, going 5-for-5 with three doubles and six RBIs in a 22-5, 6-inning win over Eisenhower.

The Panthers scored nine runs in the first inning and eight in the sixth.

Shaffer also scored four runs, while Wyatt Burchill was 4-for-5 with three runs and an RBI, Sully Zirkle was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, and William Shaffer had two RBIs, Joe Grundy and Gabe Jordan had two RBIs.

Everett Gardner tossed three shutout innings with four strikeouts for Saegertown, while Luke Young allowed five unearned runs in three innings on three hits, striking out one and walking four.

Aaden Nichols drove in a pair of runs for Eisenhower, while Kael Hunt had an RBI double.

Derek Childs took the loss, allowing nine runs (three earned) in one inning.
