August 30, 2022

RUSSELL, Pa. – The Warren County School District accepted a bid for the purchase of the old Sheffield Elementary School during Monday’s committee meetings.

In an item approved by the board on Monday, Taylor Diversion Program based out of Tionesta offered $20,000 for the property, located on Pickering Street in Sheffield, which has not been used in nine years.

“We put the old Sheffield Elementary School out for bid and we do have someone interested,” said Superintendent Amy Stewart.

The agreement also states that no portion of the property or any building that is now, or in the future, located on the property may ever be used for any educational or other purpose involving a charter school or a private school that offers instruction in any grade between kindergarten and 12th grade.

Stewart also explained the next steps in the process.

“The solicitor (Chris Byham) will now go through the paperwork to sell the property,” Stewart said.
