HERSHEY, Pa. – Warren senior Shyann Rulander led three Dragon cross country runners at the PIAA Cross Country Championships, coming in 50th place in the Class 2A girls’ race out of 244 runners.

Rulander finished with a time of 21:26.7, while teammate, freshman Morgan Alexander was 123rd in 22:41.9.

In the Class 2A boys’ race, Warren sophomore Sam Lindell was 65th out of 247 runners with a time of 18:04.8.

“It was a hot day on a challenging course,” said Warren coach Kevin Dustin. “The states race goes out quick and stays quick. Shyann ran well for her second time being there. She worked her way through the crowd well. Morgan got her first taste of big-time championship running and handled it well, She is already ready to go back.

“Sam was battling a hip injury he developed from the District race, that bothered him all race. He still pulled off a good run for the day despite that, but I know he wanted more out of the race. Should be some good things to come for Warren Cross Country these next few years.”
