Robert W. Bell

Robert W. ”Bob” Bell, 86, a lifelong resident of the Sheffield area passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at the Lutheran Home of Kane with his loving family by his side. He was born in Rew, Pa., on June 28, 1935, the son of Delbert and Myrtle Bell.

After his education at Sheffield High School, Bob continued work until recently in the oil lease which was operated by his grandfather and father. He was the owner and operator of R. W. Bell Excavating and along with his wife, Peggy, owned and operated the Forestview Roller Rink for well over 35 years.

Bob was raised to have a strong work ethic. He was a good man who always took time out for others. Bob will be missed by so many, especially his family and the Sheffield Community.

Left behind to cherish Bob’s memory are the love of his life, his wife, Peggy (Anderson) Bell, whom he married on June 30, 1956; his daughter, April Miller and husband, Tom of Barnes, Pa.; a brother, William M. Bell of Virginia; a brother-in-law, Gilbert (Punkie) Anderson; a great-grandson, Braydn Camp; and a great granddaughter, Jayruh Miller. He is further survived by a special friend, Alex Grubbs.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters: Doris Marie Bell and Lois Ann Bell; and a brother, Myron L. Bell.

Bob’s family will welcome family and friends on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, from 4- 9 p.m., at the Borden Funeral Home of Sheffield. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, at the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Culp, Methodist minister officiating. Burial will take place at the Barnes Cemetery.
