Robert LeRoy ‘Spanky’ Ishman

Robert LeRoy “Spanky” Ishman, 84, of Youngsville, Pa., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, at the Titusville Area Hospital.

Bob was born March 6, 1937, in Clarington, Pa., the son of the late Howard and Doris Bean (Ishman) Bacon.

He served in the National Guard from 1957-60. At a young age, Bob worked at Youngsville Star Manufacturing. He went on to own and operate the Wolf’s Head Service Station in Youngsville, Pa. He later worked for and retired from Inter Royal Deluxe Metal in Warren.

Bob was a founding member of the Brokenstraw Fish and Game Club and also a member of the Youngsville American Legion. He was an avid trap shooter and he also loved to hunt and fish. Bob loved his family and especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

He is survived by his wife, Saundra Ishman of Titusville; three children: Quinton Ishman and his wife, Kathy of Erie, Scott Ishman and his wife, Jolean of Pittsfield, and Tawnya Midcap and her husband, Gene of Titusville; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his sister, Helen Corley of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Ishman in 2008; daughter-in-law, Cathy Ishman; one sister, Peggy Patch; and four brothers: Rodney (Rusty), John Edward, Willis and Richard Ishman.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Burial will follow in the Kiffer Hill Cemetery, Endeavor, Pa.

The family suggests donations in memory of Bob be made to the Brokenstraw Fish and Game Club, PO Box 143, Youngsville, PA 16371.
