Richard Bartges

Richard L. Bartges, 94, of Warren, passed away on Wednesday December 16, 2020 at the Rouse Home.

Richard was born on June 21, 1926 in Coburn, Pa, to the late Jacob and Kathryn Bartges. He was a 1944 graduate of Mason Town High School. In 1944 he joined the U.S. Navy and was discharged in June 1946. He then taught for eight years at the Albert Gallatin school system. He was later a salesman at Sarah Coventry for several years. He was a member of the Tidioute Presbyterian Church. Richard was also a former member of the Eagles and Moose and was an avid fisherman on the Kinzua and the Great lakes.

He is survived by his wife Shirley M. Stoddard Bartges; a daughter Holly Korring (Carl) of Arizona; a stepdaughter Michelle Wenzel; a stepson Robert Wenzel of Erie; a brother, Joe Bartges of Charleston W.V. and Tidioute, Pa; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Bartges; a son Rich Bartges; a stepdaughter, Judy Ann Wenzel; and a stepson Tim Wenzel.
