Positive COVID-19 Cases Reported At Two Schools In Region

October 13, 2020

Both the Valley Grove and Titusville area school districts reported two positive cases each of COVID-19.

Valley Grove, which houses Rocky Grove High School, reported its original case on Sunday, and they had another confirmed on Monday.

The district released a statement that read in part: “Rocky Grove High School was informed of a second positive COVID-19 case in the past 24 hours. Out of an abundance of caution and to allow the PA Department of Health time to coordinate contact tracing and provide further guidance, Rocky Grove High School will be closed to in-person learning on Tuesday, October 13th, and Wednesday, October 14th.

Valley Grove Elementary School will continue to be open for in-person instruction. An update on the remainder of the week will be sent by Wednesday evening.”

Both of Titusville’s cases were first reported over the weekend, one adult and one student, both linked to the high school, according to multiple sources. The Derrick was first to report the positive cases.

The Warren boys soccer game at Titusville, scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed to Thursday, Oct. 22.
