Perry Lee Spencer

Perry Lee Spencer, 71, of Pittsfield, PA, passed away at the Millcreek Community Hospital in Erie, PA on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, following a recent illness.

Perry was born on Nov. 18, 1950, in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Gordon and Florence Hollabaugh Spencer. He was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of the Warren Area High School. He enlisted in the US Army and served in Germany during Vietnam. He then served in the US Army Reserves and was called up to serve in Operation Desert Storm.

He worked at PennDot as an equipment operator for 35 years, and plowed snow amongst other positions, from which he retired.

Perry was a lifetime member of the Tidioute VFW Post 8803, and a member of the DAV of Warren County, and a 50-year member of the Warson Grange. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and family.

Perry is survived by his wife Bonnie J. Swanson Spencer whom he married on June 18, 2011; two sons, Brad Spencer and his wife Michelle of Tidioute, Andrew Spencer, and his wife Sonya of Tidioute; two stepchildren, Geddy Helffriech and his wife Corinda of Titusville, Jacinta Reese of Tidioute; one brother, David Spencer and his wife Colleen of Titusville; two grandchildren, Alexis, and Jerry; his hunting buddy, Brittany; and his beloved beagle, Gizmo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lynn.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, January 8, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Peterson – Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna Ave, E. Warren, PA. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Keith Martin, pastor, officiating. The family requests masks be worn.

Burial will be in the Warren County Memorial Park.
