January 19, 2021

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Worth the wait.

The Sheffield Wolverines’ boys basketball team had to wait longer than most to begin its 2020-21 season, but the start was nearly perfect.

Tyler Hepinger pumped in 21points, Jordan Copley got his first win as head coach, and the Wolverines led from start to finish in a 55-33 win over Curwensville.

Sheffield’s Tyler Hepinger.

Hepinger scored 15 of his points in the second half, as the Wolverines extended a 24-14 halftime lead to a 22-point cushion by the end of the third quarter.

Tony Richards and Lucas McNeal both had strong offensive games for Sheffield as well, scoring 11 points each. Connor Finch netted eight points.

Ty Terry connected on three triples in the fourth quarter to finish with a team-high 19 points for the Golden Tide.

The Wolverines are back in action Wednesday when they travel to Titusville.
