Paving Project to Start Next Month in the City of Warren

May 24, 2024

WARREN, Pa. – A resurfacing project that will give motorists a smoother ride on three local roads in the City of Warren is scheduled to start soon.

The project includes Madison Avenue between Malvina Street and Park Avenue; Crescent Park Road between the city limits and Hickory Street; and Lexington Avenue between South Irvine Street and Parker Street.

Paving of these city-owned streets is being funded through the Local Federal Aid Route Program, which are federal funds available through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Work will include milling, paving, reconstruction of curb ramps to meet current ADA standards, as well as drainage and pedestrian crossing upgrades.

Construction is expected to begin June 10, 2024, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed by October 2024.

Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers. Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions and should anticipate travel delays during active work hours.

The contractor is IA Construction Corporation of Franklin, PA. The contract cost is $762,778 which is to be paid entirely with federal funds.

Based on availability of LFAR funds, work on Lexington Avenue between South Irvine and Parker Street was extended by 400 feet after the contract was awarded which may increase the overall cost of the project while staying within the available budget.
