Paving Project on Route 62 in Hickory Twp. to Begin April 6

A resurfacing project that will give motorists a smoother ride on nearly two miles of Route 62 in Hickory Township, Forest County is scheduled to start soon.

The project will include milling and paving of 1.9 miles of roadway from the intersection with Little Hickory Road to the intersection with Route 666 in Hickory Township. Work will also include drainage improvements, guide rail updates, tree trimming, and pavement markings.
Construction is expected to begin April 6, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed by late June 2021.
Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers.
The contractor is IA Construction of Franklin, PA. The contract cost is $996,222.22, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.
