Patrick Thomas Nuhfer

Patrick Thomas Nuhfer, 94, of Warren, Pa., passed away on Aug. 30, 2021, at his daughters’ residence in Irvine, Pa., surrounded by loving family.

Patrick was born March 17, 1927, in Warren, Pa., the son of the late Floyd and Hazel Nuhfer.

He resided in the Warren area his entire life and following High School, Pa-trick enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II as a petty officer third class, stationed in Guam. After returning home, he attended college in New York City, studying radio broadcasting. Upon graduation, he accepted a position with Radio Station WKRZ in Oil City, Pa. He spent several years in broadcasting.

He married Ruth Estella Grieff in St. Stephen’s Church on Jan. 31, 1953, and enjoyed nearly 65 years of marriage.

Patrick is survived by four children: Thomas (Dolly) Nuhfer, Sharon Nuhfer, Dan Nuhfer and Christine (Craig) McKillip; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth; a son, William D. Nuhfer; a brother, Raymond “Bud” Nuhfer; and a sister, Mary Josephine Amacher.

Friends will be received at the Peterson – Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Pen-na Ave, E Warren, Pa., on Friday, Sept 3, 2021, from 10 a.m. until noon, at which time a funeral service will be held with the Rev. Stephen Schrieber, pastor, Holy Redeemer Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Warren, Pa.

The family suggest memorial donations in Patrick’s memory be made to Hospice of Warren County, One Main Ave, Warren, Pa.
