Olewine Paces Youngsville in Win at Iroquois

ERIE, Pa. – Kenzie Olewine nearly outscored Iroquois by herself Monday night as Youngsville picked up a 41-27 season-opening win over the Braves.

Olewine had nine first-quarter points on her way to a game-high 25 for the night. She also buried four 3-pointers in the contest.

Those first nine points helped the Eagles (1-0) build a 13-7 lead over the Braves (0-3) after the first quarter.

Both offenses cooled in the second quarter as the teams combined for just eight points, though Youngsville held an 18-10 lead at the half.

Olewine and Mia Rafalski combined to score all 10 third-quarter points as the Eagles extended their lead to 28-17.

Iroquois hit double-digits in the fourth quarter with 10 points, but the Eagles scored 13 to get the final margin.

Rafalski finished with eight points and Ashlee Peterson six for the Eagles.

Jenna Dash and Aleyna Keysiak led the Braves with nine points, while Gracie Belfiore had five and Mak Fisher four.
