Oil City High, Middle Schools in Remote Learning Until Nov. 15

November 8, 2021

OIL CITY, Pa. – Oil City High School and Oil City Middle School are in remote learning until Monday, Nov. 15.

The move was made “due to the increasing number of students and staff members in the High School and Middle School testing positive for Covid-19 this week,” the Oil City Area School District said in a Facebook post.

According to the OCASD COVID tracker, there are 14 active cases at OCHS and 15 active cases at OCMS. The high school has a total of 700 staff and students, while the middle school has 667 total staff and students.

“Students should be checking their email and google classroom for their coursework,” the district said. “If you have any questions, please reach out to your building principals.”

Friday is a scheduled off day for students due to parent-teacher conferences.

Elementary school students will report to class as normal Wednesday and Thursday. There are five total cases between Hasson, Seventh and Smedley Elementary schools out of 771 total staff and students across the three buildings.
