Nancimay ‘Nanci’ Rossiter

Nancimay “Nanci” Rossiter, 82, a resident of Tidioute, Pa went to her eternal rest at the Warren Manor early Wednesday morning, July 28, 2021.

She was born on May 12, 1939. In 1954 she became part of the loving family of Richard and Dorris Witmer along with two sisters, Lucinda “Cindy” and Pamela “Pam” of Spartansburg, Pa.

Nanci was a graduate of Sparta Merged High School in 1957 and continued her education at Clarion, earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1961. She went on to get her Master’s Degree in Education at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY.

Nanci was employed in elementary education and loved her students. She was also a librarian. She belonged to several organizations and enjoyed traveling, knitting, baking and reading. Generous by nature and knowing the importance of reading, she enjoyed giving books to relatives, friends and especially children.

Nancimay Silia married William Rossiter on December 27, 1960 at the Episcopal Church in Corry, Pa. She is survived by a son, Arthur William “Bruce” Rossiter and his wife, Rose-Ann of Austin, TX, her sisters, Cindy (Donald) Hickernell and Pam (Conrad) Howard; 3 nieces, Lynn, Beth and Susan; 1 nephew, David; many cousins; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Rossiter and her daughters, Lynn and Heather.

Nanci was preceded in death by Richard and Dorris Witmer, her beloved daughter, Sarah “Sally” (Dec.2, 1992) and her husband, William “Bill” Rossiter (July 18, 2017).

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 31, at the First Presbyterian Church, 196 Main Street, Tidioute, Pa 16351, from 10-11am at which time a funeral service will be held there with the Rev. Dennis Ledebur, pastor, officiating, Family and friends are invited to gather for refreshments and fellowship following the service.

Nancimay Rossiter wife, mother and dear friend will be lovingly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 196 Main Street, Tidioute, Pa 16351 or to the Salvation Army, 311 Beech Street, Warren, pa 16365.
