Myers Sweeps Boys’ Jumps, Warren Runs Away from the Field at 2022 Warren County Meet

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Warren won every event on the track while Eisenhower, Youngsville, and Sheffield excelled on the field during the 2022 Warren County Track and Field Meet at Sheffield on Thursday.

The Dragons ran away with the team win in both the boys’ and girls’ competitions, scoring 136.5 and 134 points, respectively. Youngsville (43.5) took second in the boys’ meet, followed by Eisenhower (42), and Sheffield (38). For the girls, it was Eisenhower (49.5), Youngsville (45), and Sheffield (29.5).

Warren’s Katie Beyer was named Outstanding Girls Track Athlete after winning the 800 and 1600 and being part of the winning 1600 and 3200 relay teams. Lady Dragons teammate Lindsay Madigan was the Outstanding Girls Field Athlete thanks to first-place finishes in the long and triple jumps. Madigan also won the 100 and 400.

A trio of Dragons, Graham Carr, Ben White, and Ethan Best shared the Outstanding Boys Track Athlete honors. Carr won the 400 and 800, White took first in the 100 and 200, and Best won the 110 and 300 hurdles. All three were part of the winning 1600 relay team, while Best and White were also on the 400 relay team and Carr was part of the 3200 relay team.

Youngsville’s Blake Myers swept all three jumps (long, triple, high) to take home Outstanding Boys Field Athlete honors.

Other boys’ winners included Hugh Harrison (Warren, 1600), Matt Sowa (Warren, 3200, 3200 relay), Benji Bauer (Eisenhower, shot put), Justice Greene (Warren, discus), Mikael Beaver (Eisenhower, javelin), Corban Reinard and John Sayler (Warren, 3200 relay), Arick Allen and Cayden Wright (Warren, 400 relay), and Ricky Madril (1600 relay).

Individual and relay winners for the girls were Marissa Gourley (Warren, 100 hurdles, 200, 400 relay), Alexia Bowers (Warren, 300 hurdles, 400 relay, 1600 relay), Shyann Rulander (Warren, 3200), Emily Foster (Sheffield, high jump), Mackenzie Dunn (Eisenhower, shot put), Sophie Olson (Warren, discus), Rayna Hultman (Eisenhower, javelin), Charlotte Keeports and McKenna Lester (Warren, 3200 relay), Isabelle Heacox and Tori McMichael (Warren, 400 relay), Sophie Walker (3200 relay, 1600 relay), and Kaelin Hatfield (1600 relay).
