Miriam G. Olson, 68 of Sheffield, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 in Andover, Ohio.

She was born on March 11, 1952 in Atlanta, Georgia to Paul Leonard Guptill and Shirley Gay Guptill.  As a teenager Miriam spent two years in Nigeria, as her parents were both educators and her father taught there with USAID.

For Miriam that experience provided her with many lasting memories.  Miriam was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School and furthered her education by attending the York Academy of the Arts.

She married the love of her life David Alfred Olson on December 29, 1971.  They spent 25 years living in Vermont before moving back to Sheffield, this period was very significant to Miriam and Dave.  Miriam was a talented artist.  She greatly enjoyed arts and crafts and could often be found weaving a rug on her loom.  She took great pride in the Artisans Co-Op of Sheffield in which she shared her talents with many other members.  Miriam was a kind and gentle person who had a special place in her heart for her pets.  She was Protestant by faith.

Left behind to cherish Miriam’s memory are her husband David Alfred Olson at home, three brothers and their wives, Roger (Jan) Guptill of Sunburst, MT., Stephen (Vicky) Guptill of Sellersburg, IN, David (Sharon) Guptill of Hoschton, GA.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.  Miriam is further survived by her brothers in law and sisters in law, John M.
