Mary Anne Miller, 90, of Warren, Pa., died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 9, 2021, at Rouse Home, Youngsville, Pa.

Mary Anne was born on Oct 6, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the youngest child of the late Joseph and Margaret Ruffing Bendot.

Mary Anne was a resident of Warren, Pa., for the past 65 years. She was a 1949 graduate of Washing-ton High School, Washing-ton, Pa,. and later in life earned her degree in elementary education with a concentration in library science from Edinboro University. Mary Anne loved books and enjoyed sharing this passion with students across Warren County.

To Mary Anne her husband, children, grandchildren, and family were central to her being. She was married to her high school sweetheart for 62 years, Hal Miller, marrying on Aug. 23, 1952, at Holy Name Cathedral in Steubenville, Ohio. Hal and Mary Anne were a package deal and were active members of many clubs and organizations in the community including the Warren Eagles Aerie, American Legion Post 135, Warren Moose Lodge 109, Sheffield Senior Center, Circle 8 Square Dancing Club, College Club and Pennsylvania State Association of Retirees. Mary Anne had a strong faith in her church and was a long-time member of Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, where she supported the Knights of Columbus Council.

In addition to being an avid reader up until the end of her life, Mary Anne was an excellent gardener, quilter, tole painter and enjoyed cooking and baking for her friends and family. Mary Anne and Hal had a golden retirement and were able to travel the globe together, however their favorite travels were with their children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren cherish their wonderful “Grammy.”

She is survived by her five children: James “Jim” Miller and wife, Denise of Warren, Pa., Jeffrey Miller of Berlin, N.J., Joe Miller and wife, Karen of Washington, Pa., Janice “Jan” Mattioli of Warren, Pa., and Jerry Miller and wife, Amy of Dallas, Texas, 11 grandchildren: Greg Miller and wife, Maria, Julie Miller, Kelly Miller, Megan, Sarah and Matthew Miller, Christina Mattioli, Adam, Parris and Nate, Danielle Miller, one great-granddaughter, Hallie Miller, three step-grandchildren: Tyler, Logan, and Landon Nelson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Bendot; her sister, Margaret Sweeney; and her daughter-in-law, Alice Miller.

Friends may call at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 11 Russell St., Warren, Pa., on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, from 10-11a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial with Father Stephen Schreiber, pastor, officiating. Face masks and social distancing must be observed. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of the Ascension in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery.
