Marguerite P. Black

Marguerite P. Black, 92, of Youngsville, passed away peacefully on Dec. 2, 2021, after a short stay at the Rouse Warren Co. Home.

She was born July 26, 1929, in Corduroy, Pa., to the late Augustine and Frances Blauser Leichtenberger.

Marguerite graduated in 1948 from Sheffield High School.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts, baking and most importantly, spending time with her loved ones and her grandchildren.

Marguerite is survived by her children: Jean Benedict of Pittsfield, Carl (Catherine) Black and Molly (Frank) Hodges, both of Sugar Grove and Jenny Hornstrom of Pleasantville; two sisters: Elaine Boylan of Lantz Corners and Mary Moore of Jamestown, N.Y. She has 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Black; two children: Dan Black and Susan Griffin; her sisters: Lucy Hearst, Irene Zock and Ruth Kosinski; and her brothers: Roy, Paul “Buster”, Al, Frank, Bill, and Carl Leichtenberger.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date for the family.
