Lucks Has Big Day, Youngsville Bats Keep Pounding as Eagles Sweep Doubleheader

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Nathan Lucks had seven hits and nine RBIs across two games to help lead Youngsville to a doubleheader sweep of visiting Forest Area on Tuesday.

Lucks drove in five runs in the first game, and four more in the second. Keegan Mesel also had a big day with four hits and six RBIs.

YOUNGSVILLE 16, FOREST AREA 4, 5 INNINGS
Lucks had three hits and five RBIs to help lead Youngsville to a 16-4, 5-inning win over visiting Forest Area.

Lucks hit a pair of 2-run singles in the Eagles’ 10-run first inning. He drove in his fifth run of the game with a single in the second. Mesel had a hit and four RBIs. Mesel was hit by a pitch three times, two of them with the bases loaded. He also hit a 2-run single in the third.

Lane Buccardo got the win allowing one earned run on one hit, with two walks and four strikeouts in two innings. Jakobe Petachi allowed three runs, one earned, on one hit, with two walks and three strikeouts in three innings.

YOUNGSVILLE 17, FOREST AREA 7, 5 INNINGS
Lucks had four hits and four RBIs, and Youngsville used an 8-run third inning to power past Forest Area, 17-7, in five innings.

Lucks doubled and scored three times to go along with the four runs he drove in. Mesel had three hits and two RBIs, while Petachi had two hits and drove in a pair. Bobby Chase also had three hits in the win.

Mesel got the win allowing four runs, two earned, on four hits, and four walks with two strikeouts in 2 â…“ innings.

Leo Gilliland had three RBIs, despite going hitless, and Declan McLaughlin doubled and drove in a pair for Forest Area.
