Linda E. Nasman Ferrie

Linda E. Nasman Ferrie, 77, of Scandia, passed away Friday July 16, 2021, following a brief illness.

Linda was born Feb. 5, 1944. in Warren, Pa., the daughter of the late Harry Nasman and Dora Mae Wetmore Nasman.

Linda was a 1962 graduate of Warren Area High School “the best year ever at WAHS”. She attended Beauty School in Erie, Pa., during her senior year at WAHS. Although Linda used those skills to help others as a Hospice volunteer and at Peterson- Blick Funeral Home, she was most proud of her missionary service in God’s name. Linda participated on several Mission trips her favorite being Haiti she also visited Jamaica and Africa. Linda was a member of the Scandia Covenant Church as well as a life time member of the Scandia Volunteer Fire Department, past member of North Warren Volunteer Fire Department Ambulance Service. She also enjoyed working with the Elk Township Historical Society, and ETH Library Group. Linda and her husband, Kelly were involved in many activities in the Scandia community.

Linda loved walking her dog, gardening, and reading. Her love of music brought her much joy.

Linda sang in several choir groups over the years. There is always time for “One More Song”.

Linda is survived by her husband, Kelly P. Ferrie, whom she married on Jan. 5, 1970; her children: Kimberly Ann (Edward) Gertsch of Warren, Amey Lynn (Kevin) Abbott of Sugar Grove, and Tom (Michelle) Ferrie of War-ren.; a sister, Gretchen Nas-man of Florida; two grandchildren: Cody Gertsch and Tyler Ferrie; one great-grandchild, Paightyn Gertsch; and her nieces and nephews: Karin McClain, Kevin Nasman, Alex Ferrie, John Ferrie and Jon Rickert.

Linda and Kelly mentored many kids over the years. The latest under their wing: Amy Williams and Ray Swanson. She also had a lot of friends, some of her dearest were: Patti Carrington, Doris Trumbell and Bette Irwin.

The family would like to thank the Scandia Community for their support.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tho-mas E. Nasman; and a son-in-law, Edward L. Gertsch.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the Scandia Covenant Church at 11a.m., with Arron Reinard, pastor, officiating. Visitation is one hour prior at 10 a.m.
