For the third time in four years, the Lady Dragons will face the Lady Rockets for the D10 Class 5A crown. Warren hosted the championship game last year due to COVID protocols, but this year’s title game will be back on a neutral court.

Tipoff for the 2022 title game is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Meadville High School on Saturday. The championship contest will be the third game of a tripleheader at Meadville.

The girls’ Class 2A consolation game between Cambridge Springs and Cochranton gets the day started at 1 p.m., with the girls’ 5A consolation featuring Harbor Creek and Grove City scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.

Warren topped Slippery Rock in the “House of Thrills” at Meadville for the D10 title in 2019, then beat the Rockets in an instant classic game at Warren Area High School last year. The Dragons are hoping to make it three-for-three against the Rockets in championship games.

Slippery Rock is playing in its sixth straight D10 championship game. The Rockets are 1-4 in their previous five appearances, with the win coming against Harbor Creek in 2018 (the Rockets defeated the Dragons in the semifinals that year).
