HERMITAGE, Pa. – The Warren High School girls’ golf team recently competed in the Tam O’Shanter Girls Invitational, Warren’s first official girls’ golf tournament in several years.

Altogether, 18 high schools were represented in the tournament with Hickory taking top honors and North East taking runner-up.

Individual honors went to Anna Swan from North East shooting a 69 and Kate Sowers from West Middlesex firing a 71.

“Although the Warren girls did not place in the Invitational, there were many positives gained from the experience,” said assistant coach Scott Pearson. “This was the first official girls match for all of the Warren girls filled mostly with first-year players who had to compete against experienced players on a foreign golf course.

“The experiences gained will help in the development of the players moving forward and the future of the girl’s golf team. I am very proud of how the girls competed and represented Warren.”

Leading the Dragons was Katharine Smith with a 115 and Madeline Walker with a 118. Rounding out the scoring was Maelee Mandeville with a 134, Marisa Palmieri with a 135, and Harley Poole and Lexi Paris with 141s.
