ERIE, Pa. – Youngsville seniors Ethan Kesterholt and Joe Mack saved their best for last at Iroquois Monday.

The pair combined to score 23 of the Eagles’ 28 second-half points as they erased a 2-point halftime deficit to come away with a 43-39 win over the Braves. It was Youngsville’s third straight win.

Iroquois took a 17-15 lead into the half thanks to 10 points from Ben Burkhardt. Kesterholt had seven of the Eagles’ first-half points, while Mack was held to just a pair of free throws.

The two exploded in the second half.

They scored all 13 of the Eagles’ third-quarter points, Mack with six and Kesterholt seven. Mack hit a 3-pointer and went 4-4 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to help the Eagles put the game away.

Kesterholt had a game-high 17 points while Mack added 15 in the win.

Burkhardt finished with 17 points for the Braves (1-15 overall, 1-9 Region 2), while Logan Briggs added 11 in the loss.

The Eagles (5-9 overall, 5-7 Region 2) will be right back on the court Tuesday when they travel to Cochranton for another Region 2 showdown.
