Joseph F. ‘Bud’ Duffy Jr.

Joseph F. “Bud” Duffy Jr., 82, of Warren, Pa., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022, at Warren General Hospital, following a battle with COVID-19.

Bud was born on June 18, 1939. in Warren, Pa., the son of the late Joseph F. and Marcella Wooster Duffy.

A lifelong area resident, Bud attended Warren High School, worked for Marlin Rockwell, and later he and his late wife owned and operated the Ideal Bakery for several years. Bud became certified and received Hartford national accreditation for testing pressure vessels. He then worked for the State of Pennsylvania, as a pressure vessel inspector. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 109, where he served as an administrator for a time.

Over the years, Bud enjoyed dancing with his wife, family events, hunting, coaching youth baseball teams, having coffee, and playing some scratch-offs with his peers.

Bud is survived by two sons: Joseph E. Duffy of Russell, Pa,, and Sean Duffy and his companion, Kim Brewer of West Springfield, Pa.; two sisters: Sandra Smith of Warren, and Kay Beckman and her husband, Ellsworth of Bath, N.Y.; one brother, Robert Duffy, and his wife, Patricia of Warren; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Bud was preceded in death on Jan. 13, 2013 by his wife, Janet L. Koza Duffy, whom he married on Aug. 11, 1962, in Warren; three sisters: Elizabeth Muscaro, Marylin Smith and Patricia Duffy; and one brother, Bill Johnson.

Due to Covid concerns, the family has chosen to have services at a later date.
