Joan G. Sedon

Joan G. Sedon, 90, of Warren, Pa.., died Friday morning, September, 10, 2021, after a brief illness. She was born April 3, 1931, in Lucinda, Pa.

A daughter of the late Lawrence and Florence Fitzgerald Griebel. Joan was a 1949 graduate of North Clarion (Farmington) High School and was employed by Garrison-Simonsen Insurance Agency as an insurance agent for 22 years, retiring in May 1994.

She was a member of Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church. She was also a member of Warren General Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered at the outpatient desk of the hospital for many years.

She enjoyed time spent with her family, reading, working crossword puzzles and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State fan. Her most favorite times were the many vacations and winters spent in Destin, Fla., with her late husband and her family. She is lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on July 18, 1999, by her husband, Richard “Dick” Sedon,” whom she married on June 2, 1956,, at St. Joseph Church Lucinda, Pa.; two grandsons: infant, Joseph Sedon and Nate Sedon; and brothers; Donald and Lawrence Griebel.

She is survived by her two sons: Terry Sedon and his wife, Kelly Lundberg Sedon, Warren, Pa.., formerly of New Jersey, and Tim Sedon and his wife, Tammy Haight Sedon of Conover, N..C.; four grandchildren: Jessica “Jessi” (Dan) Lavioe of Verona, Pa.., Elizabeth (Chris) Hart-man of Corapolis, Pa., Kathy (Ben) Visnic, of Wheeling, W.Va., and Timmy Sedon of Conover, N.C., seven great-grandchildren: Valerie Sendon, twins: Logan and Everlee Sedon, all of Con-over, N..C., Marty Visnic of Wheeling, W.Va., James and Issac Hartman of Corapolis, Pa.., and Zoey Lavioe of Verona, Pa.; two sisters: Shirley (Harvey) McFarland of Destin, Fla., and Kathy (John) Doyle of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers: Ronald (Nancy) Griebel of Wattsburg, Pa., and William Griebel of Lucinda, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation hours observed. A private funeral service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery.
