Joan Fitch

Joan Kerrin (Sears)Fitch (76) of Cable Hollow Road, Russell, PA passed away on Monday, February 1st, 2021 at Hamot Hospital.

Joan was born November 20, 1944, in Akeley PA, the daughter of the late Lynn and Louise (Johnson) Sears. A Warren area resident most her life, Joan was a stay at home mother raising her three boys.

Joan grew up on her family’s dairy farm which is now the Cable Hollow Golf Course. Her father affectionately referred to her as stick in the mud. Joan ended up living back in the house that her folks built across from the golf course. She was a 1962 graduate of Eisenhower High School and had attended the Wiltsie Community Church. Joan enjoyed numerous hobbies including photography, camping, sewing, cardmaking, embroidery and other miscellaneous crafts. J

oan also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis A. Fitch on July 1, 2018, whom she married in 1968 in Frewsburg, NY. In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her sisters Joyce Johnson and Helen Fiorella.

She is survived by three sons, Todd (Judy) Fitch of Charleston, South Carolina, Jamie (Christina) Fitch of Youngsville, PA and Jason (Debi) Fitch of Eustis, Florida; six grandchildren, Sydney, Lily, Zachary, Diana, Amy and Angela; along with five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Joan is also survived by two sisters Luella Strickland and Carol Munson.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003, 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA, on Thursday, January 4, from 1 to 3 pm, at which time a funeral service will be held, with Rev. Todd Venman, pastor, Wiltsie Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, PA. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Wiltsie Community Church, 2981 Swede Hill Rd., Russell, PA 16345
