Janet Moore

December 11, 2020

Janet Moore, 81, of Tidioute, PA passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at her home, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family.

She was born January 19, 1939 in Pulaski, PA to the late John and Dorothy (Bobby) Wharry. Janet attended the Allegheny Bible Church in Tidioute, and worked at the family nursery for many years.

Janet dedicated her life to being a fantastic mother and wonderful wife. Oh, how she loved babies, her eyes would light up and her heart would glow around babies. She raised 4 great children and scores of orphaned wildlife that her Game Warden husband, Jack, would drag home. In the summer, she could be found on her front porch swing watching her humming birds bicker among her beautiful hanging baskets and in the winter she loved spending time with all her wonderful friends at Bob’s Landing in Florida.  She had an incredible singing voice and loved to sing her favorite hymns. Anyone who knew her knew what a truly beautiful person she was and we will miss her so very much.

Janet is survived by her loving husband Jack Moore, whom she married June 29, 1957 in Pulaski, PA, her children; Jack (Lisa) Moore Jr. of New Bethlehem, Connie (Richard) Peterson of Tidioute, Crystal (Ted) Gertsch of Warren, and Troy (Debbie) Moore of Tidioute, a brother; Edward Wharry of New Castle, her grandchildren; Brett Moore, Travis Moore, Christopher Peterson, Jesse Peterson, Jacob Moore and Hayley Moore, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 nephews.

The family will be having a private funeral service. A public graveside service will be held on Friday, December 11, at 1:30pm at the Swedish Union Cemetery in Tidioute, with the Rev. Dale Timco, pastor of the Allegheny Bible Church in Tidioute, officiating. Burial will follow.

The family suggests memorial donations may be made to the Allegheny Bible Church, 45 Hill Dr. Tidioute, PA 16351.

The Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, in Youngsville, have been entrusted with all arrangements. Condolences to the family may be made at www.nelsonfuneralhome.net
