Andy CloseJames A. (Bucky) Shettler, Jr. 87 formerly of Sheffield passed away at noon on December 10, 2020 at Lutheran Senior Life of Zelienople, PA.
He was born on October 25th, 1933 in Kane, PA to the late James Shettler Sr. and Florence Amacker Shettler. Bucky was a graduate of Kane High School. He went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force 19th F.M. 307th during the Korean War. He married the love of his life Shirley Hanson Shettler on August 20, 1960 in Sheffield. He was employed by the U.S. Forest Service and retired from there in 1995. He was a member of the Sheffield United Methodist Church. Bucky loved going for rides to view the beauty of nature around him.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Left behind to cherish Bucky’s memory are his daughter Shari Clark and her husband Jeff of Cranberry Township, PA, His grandson Gregory (his shining star) of Oxford, England, his brother-in-law Richard (Squeak) Hanson and wife Ginny of Sheffield as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley.
There will be no public calling hours. Private family services will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Borden Funeral Home of Sheffield with Reverend Douglas Brink of Sheffield United Methodist Church officiating.
