James Lawrence Collins

James Lawrence Collins, 59, a resident of Warren, Pa passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born Sept. 6, 1962, in Warren, Pa., a son of Luella Collins and the late Elmer Collins Sr. of Sugar Grove.

Jim was raised in Sugar Grove and was a graduate of Eisenhower High School. He worked for Busch Industries, and was co-owner of the Picture Place in Warren and most recently he worked for Betts Industries in Warren, from which he retired. He enjoyed fishing, billiards, baseball, soccer, but first and foremost in his life were his children and grandchildren. The love and pride he had for them was immense. Jim touched many people through his caring and kindness, his friends were many and he cherished them all.

Jim is survived by his mother, Luella; his children: Cheyenne (Rich) Burgess and Dale Caldwell, both of Jamestown, N.Y.; his siblings: Elmer “Rocky” (Marsha) Collins Jr. of Sugar Grove, Gary Collins of Warren, and Susan (Art) Luther of Pittsfield; his grandchildren: Madison and Cameron Burgess; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Jim was preceded in death by his sisters: Kaye Onuffer and Amy Gladney.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, at the Mission Covenant Church, 7205 Matthews Run Road, Sugar Grove, PA 16350, from 11 a.m.-noon, at which time a funeral service will be held there with the Rev. Jon Swart, interim pastor of Mission Covenant Church, officiating. A private burial will be in the Sugar Grove Wesleyan Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial donations be made at a charity of choice.
