Jack D. Moore

March 7, 2022

Jack D. Moore, 85, of Tidioute, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Kinzua Health Care in Warren.

Jack was born Sept. 20, 1936, in Tidioute, to the late Ernie and Bertha (Bupp) Moore.

Jack liked to keep busy. He worked as a State Game Warden while he and his wife, Janet owned and operated Moore’s Green House in Tidioute. He had many irons in the fire his whole life to provide for his family. But he still made time to selflessly help others. Anyone who knew him can tell you of a time he helped someone in need.

Jack loved to hunt, whether on the Hill in Tidioute with Troy, or on Jack Jr.’s farm in Clarion, he was always dreaming of that big buck or crafty old gobbler. Jack was a fisherman, you could find him on the Allegheny River in Tidioute, or on Crooked Lake in Babson Park, Fla., where he and Janet had their winter home. He was a loving husband and father and will be missed greatly

Jack is survived by his children: Jack (Lisa) Moore Jr. of New Bethlehem, Connie (Richard) Peterson of Tidioute, Crystal (Ted) Gertsch of Warren; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Moore of Tidioute; a sister, Linda Reese of Tidioute; his grandchildren: Brett Moore, Travis Moore, Christopher Peterson, Jesse Peterson, Jacob Moore, and Hayley Moore; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janet Moore, who passed Dec. 8, 2020; a son, Troy Moore, who passed Nov. 9, 2021; a great-granddaughter, Izzy Rae Peterson, who passed Aug. 21, 2021; and a brother, Ronald Moore.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 11 a.m. till noon at the Allegheny Bible Church in Tidioute, at which time a funeral service will take place there at noon with the Re. Dale Timco, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Swedish Union Cemetery in Tidioute.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Allegheny Bible Church, 45 Hill Drive Tidioute, PA 16351.

The Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Youngsville have been entrusted with all arrangements.
