MARIENVILLE, Pa. – In February 2020, the Forest Area School District and Forest Warren Mental Wellness Association were awarded a grant of $7,875 from the J. Bowman Proper Charitable Trust.

The purpose of this grant is to educate youth on the value of growing your own food, and the importance of healthy eating for many generations to come.

The grant provided a greenhouse to East Forest School in Marienville, Pa. Students will learn how to grow plants for the Marienville Community Garden utilizing the new greenhouse. Students will be educated in practical skills they can transfer to be used at home and entrepreneurial skills for their future.
