Gladys Pierson

Gladys E. Pierson 92 of Sheffield passed away Thursday morning, January 7, 2021, at the Rouse Home in Youngsville, PA.

She was born in Sheffield on December 3, 1928 to Henry Erickson and Anna (Johnson) Erickson.  Gladys was a 1947 graduate of Sheffield High School.  She married (John) Allan Pierson on October 24, 1953 and together they raised three children.  Gladys was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church of Sheffield.  She enjoyed being outside in the summer months tending to her flower and herb gardens.  She enjoyed putting together puzzles and relaxing by reading.  Above everything else, her family was most important to her.  She thoroughly enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s’ school activities.  Gladys will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Left behind to cherish Gladys memory are two sons Craig (Valarie) Pierson of Warren, Rich (Denise) Pierson of Sheffield and one daughter Cathey Proctor and friend (Paul) of Sharpsville, PA.  She is further survived by seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John A. Pierson on August 31, 2007.  She was also preceded in death by her siblings Alice Gasik, Ruth Carter, Ada Salapo, Francis Detota, Doris Holquist, Henry Erickson, Homer Erickson, Lawanda Meddock, and Patty Denardi.

Private family services will be held at the Borden Funeral Home of Sheffield with the Reverend Lawrence Scofield, Interim Pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Warren officiating.  Burial will take place at the Sheffield Cemetery.
