Geraldine “Gerrie” Natalie Dykins Jones, 85, of Warren, PA., passed away peacefully Thursday morning, December 3, 2020.

She was born August 17, 1935 in Warren, PA to the late Gerald and Freda Fischer Dykins.  She grew up in Clarendon, PA. Gerrie was a 1953 graduate of Warren High School, where she was involved in choir and theatre.

Gerrie met her husband, Lewis Jones, when they were ten years old, while ice skating at Wildcat Park. They started their courtship after high school and were married in June of 1957.  They were happily married for 63 years. Gerrie and Lew had three children:  Jackie, Dean, and Rhonda.  

Gerrie had resided most of her life in the Warren area and had briefly lived in New Jersey, and Bradford, PA.  She was employed with the Warren County School District Central office for many years. She had previously been employed with GTE Sylvania, and National Forge.  She, along with her husband, owned and operated Conewango Kennels.  She attended First United Methodist Church and sang in the choir.  She was also a long-time member of the SnB Club. 

Gerrie spent many happy hours with her family boating and water skiing on Kinzua Reservoir and Chautauqua Lake, as well as snowmobiling in the Allegheny National Forest.  She enjoyed gardening, knitting, cooking, and taking care of her family.  Her greatest joys in life were spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.  They were the center of her life.

She is survived by her husband, Lewis, 3 Children – Jackie Jones Beck of Warren, PA., Dean L. Jones and wife, Melissa “Missy” of Key West, FL., Rhonda K. Jones of Warren, PA., Brother – Lt. Col. James R. Dykins, Retired of Panama City, FL., 5 grandsons – Kylie, Colin, Orion, Mac, and Haydn, 4 granddaughters – Allix, Lincoln, Jasmine, and Natalie, one great granddaughter, Elliott Pascuzzi, along with many nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.  Those wishing to place memorial donations in memory of Gerrie, may do so through the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, crohnscolitisfoundation.org, and Interstitial Cystitis Association, ichelp.org.
