TIONESTA, Pa. – The Forest Area School District Health and Wellness Committee provided a link on the district’s Facebook page recently to tips on how parents and keep their children healthy during flu and cold season.
The tips came from Penn State PRO Wellness, which is a non-profit organization that is committed to educating and inspiring youth and their families to eat well, engage in regular physical activity, and become champions for bringing healthy choices to life.
The tips (which can be found by clicking here with more detailed explanations) include having kids wash their hands frequently at home and school, having kids do regular, moderate exercise indoors or outdoors, having kids get between 9 and 14 hours of sleep depending on their age, eating a well-balanced diet, decreasing stress, and avoiding germy sharing.
