Floyd ‘Gene’ Monticue

Floyd E. “Gene” Monticue, 82, of Lander, Pa., died Wednesday morning, Aug. 25, 2021, at his residence.

He was born July 30, 1939, in Kecksburg, Westmoreland County, Pa. He was the son of Edward H. Monticue and Mary Edna Pluck Monticue Berkbile. Gene was a former resident of Somerset, Pa., and resided in Warren area most of his life. He had served as a private, serving seven years with the National Guard and the U.S. Army.

He was employed as a mechanic with the former Smith Buick and Midtown Motors.

He retired from Warren County School District. He was of Pentecostal faith. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family.

Gene is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rosemarie Falconer Monti-cue, whom he married June 15, 1968, in Lander, Pa.; six children: Edward Eu-gene Monticue and wife, Rosemarie of Warren, Pa., Norma Jean Arnold and husband, Carl of Myers-dale, Pa., Tracey Kirk and husband, Ron of Warren, Pa., Melinda Bevil Allison of Charlotte, N.C., Pamela Fedorchuk and husband, Brian of Warren, Pa., De-Anna Tremblay and husband, Joe of Warren, Pa.; one sister, Katherine Collins and husband, J.C. of Wichita, Kan.; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Edward Monticue and Roy Rodgers; one sister, Dorothy Dee.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East St., Warren, Pa., on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021, from 2-4 and 6 -8 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted there on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Dale Haight, officiating. Interment will be in Foster Cemetery, Lander, Pa., where full military honors will be conducted by the Youngsville American Legion Post Funeral Honor Guard.
