Florance E. Barton

Florance E. Barton, 95, of Warren, Pa., passed away Aug 17, 2021, at the Warren Manor.

Florance was born Dec. 8, 1925, in Plummer, Pa., to the late Ruland and Edna Russ.

She was a graduate of Sheffield High School and was a nurse cadet during World War II, at the age of 18. Florance was employed at the New Process Company. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting and homemaking. Florance was a loving mother of four children who she taught moral and ethical standards. Joyous days of past remembrance, how lucky we were children, that she shared with our father, the scared duty of raising a family.

Florance is survived by her children: Jerry Allan (Susan) Barton, Polly Truesdale, James (Elizabeth) Barton, Stanley Barton; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was well loved by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Florance was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Allan L. Barton; three brothers: Wayne Russ, Floyd Russ and Ronald Russ; one sister, Janet Hahn; and a granddaughter, Diane Truesdale.

Friends and family will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna Ave, E. Warren, Pa., on Tuesday Aug. 24, 2021, from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Mark Hecht, pastor, First United Methodist Church, officiating. There will be a luncheon at the First United Methodist Church following the service. Burial will be in the Warren County Memorial Park.
