WARREN, Pa. – Warren County set a new single day high for reported COVID-19 cases with five new confirmed positive cases added to the county’s cumulative total Friday.
In its daily COVID dashboard update, the Pennsylvania Department of Health lists 60 confirmed and 11 probable cases in Warren County. That’s an increase of five confirmed cases from Thursday’s total.
Of the 71 total cumulative cases, 27 have been reported in October, nine of those have come since Oct. 25. That’s up from the 16 reported in September, and nearly double the 14 reported in August.
The Warren County School District confirmed Friday that it is dealing with three positive cases in the western attendance area (Youngsville schools).
The cumulative case count stretches back to March 24, when the county’s first positive case was announced. No additional cases were reported until May 12. There were two cases in May, four in June and seven in July.
The county has one reported death.
The cumulative case count includes those cases the state considers “recovered.”
A case is considered recovered “if a case has not been reported as a death, and it is more than 30 days past the date of their first positive test (or onset of symptoms) then an individual is considered recovered,” according to the Department of Health.
