Fire Damages Terrace Street Home Thursday Night

April 27, 2023

WARREN, Pa. – Fire caused “substantial damage” to a Warren home early Thursday night.

According to the Pulse Point app, firefighters were called to 208 Terrace Street just after 8 p.m. Thursday for a fire. The fire was visible on the back side of the home when firefighters arrived, according to Warren City Fire Chief Dave Krogler.

“When the first crews got here, they had fire visible on the backside of the structure,” Krogler said. “It started to vent and roll out into the carport area. And they made entry off onto the side of the carport area knocked down the fire under the roof on cardboard and went into the kitchen.”

Krogler said the owner was home at the time the fire started, but was able to get out safely.

“It’s just a one-person occupant family there and she and her dog got out,” Krogler said.

The fire appeared to start in the back porch area, Krogler said, and appeared to be accidental in nature.

“It appears to be accidental, electrical in nature,” Krogler said. “I’m not going to call the fire marshal. The insurance may do an investigation. That’s where the bulk of the fire was at, we pinpointed that there was a wall receptacle on the back wall back there. There’s substantial damage to the back half of the structure.”

Warren City firefighters were assisted on the scene by North Warren VFD. Pleasant VFD was on standby at the Warren fire station.
