ROCHESTER, NY – A pair of Warren County alums had banner days in the pool for Jamestown Community College during Session 1 of the NJCAA Region 3 Swimming & Diving Championships Friday.
Lindsay Finch (Russell, PA/Eisenhower HS) set a school record in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:44.88 to place third. Finch was also part of the 800-yard freestyle relay team, along with Emily Lyon (Panama, NY/Panama Central), Jade Vidas (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Parktown HS for Girls), and Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, Guateng, South Africa/Fourways HS) that placed second with a time of 9:27.47.
Kylee Hennessy (Warren, PA/Warren Area HS) placed fifth in the 50-yard breaststroke with a personal best of 42.08.
After Session 1, the JCC women’s team was in second place with a team score of 124.
Leading the flock for the Jayhawks, Kaylee Constantino (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) placed first in the 50-yard breaststroke, setting a school and championship record with a time of 32.69. Constantino also placed third in the 50-yard freestyle, setting a personal best with a time of 26.65.
Tia Moppert (Gowanda, NY/Gowanda HS) also had a first-place finish for the Jayhawks, finishing with a personal best in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:31.03. Vidas placed second in the event with a time of 2:38.59.
Lyon placed third in the 50-yard breaststroke with a personal best of 39.10.
