yourdailylocalEsther Mae Neel, 91, of Warren, Pa, passed away on January 25, 2021 at the John & Orpha Blair Hospice House.
She was born on December 31, 1929, in Seneca, Pa, a daughter to the late James W. and Bessie Mae (Watson) Whitling. Esther worked as an LPN at Warren General Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Lander United Methodist Church where she was involved in many activities, one of which was teaching Sunday school. She enjoyed helping others and working outside to keep up with her yard, but most of all, she love spending time with her grandchildren. They brought much joy to her life and she never missed their sporting events.
Esther is survived by her children, Larry Neel of Bradford, Pa, and Jean Neel of Youngsville, Pa; her sisters, Joanne Boocks of FL, and Hazel Whitmer of OH; her grandchildren, Ashley Anthony and her companion, Zach Wilcox, Andrew and Colby Neel; her great-grandchildren, Trentin and Kamaya Anthony, Riley Wilcox and Oryon Neel; a niece, Sarah Pridemore as well as several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Hallie Whitling, her siblings, Willis, Harold, Walter, Helen, Merle, Donald and Norman.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 30 at 11am at the Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 314 North Main Street, Youngsville, Pa 16371, with the Rev. J Mark Hurst, pastor of the Lander United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Brandon Cemetery in Seneca, Pa.
