Elsie Vidella Barrett

Elsie Vidella Barrett, 96, of Russell, PA, passed away on April 17, 2022, following a brief illness. Elsie was born on November 3, 1925, at home on Swede Hill, Russell, PA, the daughter of the late Victor and Vidella R. Lundmark.

Elsie graduated from Russell High School. She worked at Barrett’s Garage as a bookkeeper with her late husband along with being a homemaker. She was involved with the Auxiliary Board for Warren General Hospital. She was a longtime member of the Akeley United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed baking, gardening, knitting, and most of all, Elsie enjoyed her family, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends.

Elsie is survived by her four children Jeffrey V. Barrett and wife Darlene of Russell, PA, Charles E. Barrett and wife Judy of Russell, PA, Virginia A. “Ginny” Barrett of Warren, PA, and Rebecca S. McClement and husband Barry of Russell, PA; five grandchildren, Angela Page and husband Eric of Colchester, Connecticut, Nicole Morine of Berkley, Michigan, Kelsie Morine of Russell, PA, Scott Barrett and wife Janine of Littleton, Colorado, and Jason Morine of Pittsburgh, PA; three great-grandchildren Kiersten Page, Danny Page, and Brooklyn Barrett; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death on September 3, 2003, by her husband, William E. Barrett, whom she married on June 7, 1947; and her sisters, Evelyn Haller, Bernice Sears, Anna Lundmark, and Beverly Hunt.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc, 1003 Penna. Ave. on Sunday, April 24, 2022, from 2 to 4 pm, and for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 25, at 11 am with Rev. Jeff York, officiating.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Akeley United Methodist Church, 541 Akeley Road, Russell, PA 16345, or to Hospice of Warren County, One Main Ave, Warren, PA 16365.
