Eisenhower, Warren, Youngsville Suffer Losses on the Diamond

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Eight of the nine hitters in Cochranton’s lineup recorded a hit in a 14-4, five-inning win over Eisenhower.

The Cardinals scored five runs in both the third and fifth innings. Wyatt Barzak led the way, going 3-for-3 with two doubles, four RBIs, and four runs, while Blake Foulk was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs, and three runs, Ramy Sample 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Ben Field 1-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

Barzak tossed three hitless innings, allowing one unearned run, striking out six, and walking one.

Derek Childs was 2-for-2 with two RBIs for the Knights, while Garrett Jensen and Brok English were both 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Shawn Pascuzzi took the loss, allowing nine runs in four innings, walking four, and striking out one.

CATHEDRAL PREP 22, WARREN 2

WARREN, Pa. – Andrew Malec went 3-for-4 with three RBIs as Cathedral Prep beat Warren, 22-2 in four innings.

Adam Gausman, Jason Fultz, Patrick Sullivan, Maddox Stadler, and Joey Spano Jr. all drove in two runs apiece for the Ramblers, who also took advantage of nine Warren errors.

Andrew Malec got the win, allowing two runs in four innings on five hits, striking out eight, and walking two.

J.T. Blum had two hits for Warren, while Eric Dippold and Owen Blum had one RBI each.

Blum took the loss, allowing six earned runs in two innings.

MAPLEWOOD 17, YOUNGSVILLE 8
SAEGERTOWN 15, YOUNGSVILLE 5

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Youngsville suffered a pair of losses, dropping a 17-8 defeat to Maplewood, followed by a 15-5 setback to Saegertown in the completing of a previously suspended game.

Elliott Beuchat drove in three runs for Maplewood, while Connor Burns, Noah Burk, and Ethan Peterson drove in two each. The Tigers also took advantage of 13 walks.

Landyn Reynolds got the win, tossing 3 ⅓ shutout innings, allowing just two hits, and striking out three.

Youngsville actually outhit Maplewood, 12-9.

Matt DeSimone went deep for the Eagles, part of a 3-for-4 effort that saw him score three runs, while James Johnson was 2-for-5 with two runs, Keagan Mesel 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs, and Ethan Senz 2-for-3.

DeSimone took the loss, allowing seven earned runs in 3 ⅓ innings.

In a game that was completed on April 11, Saegertown scored 11 runs in the fourth inning in a 15-5, five-inning win.

Landon Caldwell was 2-for-3 with a triple, four RBIs, and three runs for Saegertown, while Zach Balog was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Henry Shaffer 1-for2- with three runs and an RBI, and Anthony Hernandez 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

Wyatt Dalrymple drove in a pair of runs for Youngsville.
