Dragons Win Six Titles at D10 Swimming Championships

March 7, 2022

GENEVA, Ohio – Warren swimmers brought home six titles from the District 10 Swimming Championships at the S.P.I.R.E. Institute in Geneva, Ohio on Friday and Saturday.

Katie Beyer and Hugh Harrison each won a pair of individual titles and Harrison was part of two relay team winners.

Beyer repeated as the 200 free champion and took first in the 100 free after a second-place finish in the event last year.

Harrison won the 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley. He was also part of a relay team along with Max Harrison, Graham Carr and Derek Hahn that won the 200 and 400 free relays.

All will now move on to the PIAA State Swimming Championships, where Beyer will look to repeat as the 200 free champion.

The 3A boys’ championships will be March 16 – 17, while the 2A girls’ championships are set for March 18 – 19. All the championships will be held at Bucknell University.

Kirsten Johnson finished seventh in the 200 IM and sixth in the 100 backstroke and the girls’ 400 free relay team finished seventh.

Other place winners for the boys include Hahn (second in 100 butterfly, third in 200 IM), Max Harrison (second in both 50 and 100 free), Carr (fourth in both 50 free and 100 backstroke), and Connor Fehlman (second in 500 free, fifth in 100 breaststroke). The 200 medley relay team finished third.
