Dragons Turn in Complete Performance in Critical Region 5 Win over Oil City

February 12, 2022

WARREN, Pa. – Parks Ordiway scored 19 of his 21 points in the first half as Warren earned a 68-47 Region 5 win over Oil City.

Ordiway drilled five first-half threes, while Owen Becker finished with 10 points for the Dragons. Kody Vega tallied seven points for the Dragons, who had a total of nine different players make their way into the scoring column.

Tommy Nyquist had six points, but much more than that, constantly set up his teammates for open looks.

The win was a bounce-back of sort for the Dragons, following a road loss at Region 5 leader Fariview in a game that was a battle right to the finish.

Ordiway was named Icyy Ink Player of the Game and talked about the win afterward:

It was also an important game for the Dragons in terms of region standings and potential playoff seeding, as both teams came in with identical 8-3 region records. The Dragons improved to 12-8 overall.

Warren led 37-27 at halftime and opened the third quarter on a 10-0 run to put the game out of reach.

Justin Rich and Brady Berdine also had six points each for Warren, while Braylon Barnes and J.T. Blum tallied five apiece and Bryce Blair two.

Cam VanWormer had 15 points to lead Oil City and Judias Johnson added 11.
